Welcome to the online home of the African American Music Association, Inc., a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization established in 1992 to preserve, protect, promote, and foster the continued development
of African American music and the legacy of those who compose, record, and perform the music.
Mission

To promote, preserve, and advance the tradition of African American music throughout the world.

To serve as an advocate for African American music education throughout the the District of Columbia

To ensure the inclusion of African American music from pre-school through the university levels.

To foster the recognition of the contributions and significance of African American music to American culture.
